Pennsylvania Ambassadors of
Music
June 24 to July 8, 2008
This tour is not just another tour to China. Much thoughts
and efforts have been put into planning this tour to provide
our participants a most meaningful and enjoyable experience
in China. We designed the tour for our participants not just
to see some sights in China but to learn and experience what
they see.
Tour participants will learn
about the past, the present and the future of China. In
addition to all these benefits our
participants will have a most enriching
musical experience in performing with the Eaken Piano Trio
and fellow musicians in China.
Hotels
Our group will stay at 4-star hotels in Beijing (4 nights),
Xian (3 nights), Shanghai (2 nights) and a 3- star hotel in
Zhenjiang (3 nights), for a total of 12 nights. All our
rooms will have air conditioning and private baths. Two
persons will share a room with two beds.
Meals
A full buffet breakfast with both American and Chinese
selections will be provided every morning. Lunch is included
everyday except for one day. Seven dinners are also
included. We are on our own for one lunch and five dinners.
Included lunch and dinners are Chinese. Various western
foods, including American fast food, are available for
purchase at or near our hotels.
Concerts
Our group will give one concert in York before departure,
and one in Beijing, two in Xian, and two in Zhenjiang.
Special Features
We are most fortunate that the Eaken Piano Trio will
accompany us on this tour through China. They will rehearse
and perform with us. We will also visit the China
Conservatory of Music in Beijing and several universities in
Xian and Zhenjiang. We will also have the opportunity of
meeting and interacting with professors and students in
China. We will also have the privilege of meeting with the
officials of the city of Zhenjiang to gain some insights
into the administration of a Chinese city.
